Travelling across Europe, Loop’n’beat meets the artists, engineers, instrument makers, software developers and communities shaping electronic music, exploring how technology is changing the way we create, experience and connect through sound.
Electronic music was never made in one place.
It was built in bedrooms and basements, soldered together in small workshops, played for the first time in clubs that became legends almost by accident, and pushed forward by producers chasing a sound nobody had heard yet.
We've spent the last few years building Loop'n'beat around that world, a Zurich collective for people who understand that the culture is bigger than the music itself.
But the culture lives all over Europe, in places we've only ever heard about secondhand: a club with a sound system built by hand and a door policy that's part of the mythology, a producer's studio where a track that changed a genre was made on gear held together with tape, a workshop where the instruments themselves are still built one at a time.
So we're going to go find it.
Loop'n'beat on the Road is a van, a crew, and a route across Europe, chasing the people and places that make electronic music what it is: the makers building the instruments, the producers shaping the sound, and the clubs that gave it somewhere to live. Not a gear review. Not a nightlife guide.
A documentary about a culture told through the people who built it, from every angle at once.
Every stop is different, a founder arguing with their own prototype, a producer walking us through the one track that started everything, a club owner explaining how a room with bad parking and a great sound system became a pilgrimage site.
Some stops are workshops. Some are studios. Some don't open until midnight.
The road leads back to where it started.
The last stop is Zurich and MODULA, the gathering where all of it comes together: the makers, the producers, the performers, and the community that grew up around them.
What began as a search across the whole scene ends with all of it, and everyone who loves it, in the same room.
