Inspired by the sounds and technology of the 80s and 90s, such as: Digitech Whammy pedals, Tascam Portastudios, overdriven analog signals, cobbled together recording setups, and sequencers that predate the MIDI specification.

Australian Tactile Instruments was founded in 2026, following 20+ years of software development and active involvement in live-coding corners of the internet. Research and development draws from residencies at Baltic Analog Lab (Latvia), PIFcamp (Slovenia), and Phonolab Heavy Industries (Australia).
